Guardian’s head of technology and Unilever marketing chief to headline IAB Mobile Engage

By Jennifer Faull The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has revealed the line-up for its sixth Mobile Engage conference, with The Guardian’s head of technology Jemima Kiss, and Unilever SVP of global marketing Marc Mathieu among the first speakers confirmed for the event. Joining them will be Google country director for the UK Peter Fitzgerald; Twitter sales director for the UK Dara Nasr; and James Chandler, global mobile director at Mindshare. Nickelodeon launches ad-free mobile subscription service for kids

By Minda Smiley Nickelodeon is launching an ad-free app for pre-schoolers that will be available exclusively on Apple devices from next month. The app, dubbed Noggin, will feature long and short form content, including education-based series such as Blue’s Clues, Little Bear, Ni Hao, and Kai-lan. Additional features will music videos featuring Nick preschool characters, and the return of the popular Moose and Zee characters hosting educational videos that can help kids prepare for kindergarten. Content on Noggin will remain library-based, separated from Nickelodeon’s preschool productions that are currently available on its existing platforms. Facebook releases suicide prevention tools after mental health organisation consultation

The social network worked with mental health organisations Forefront, Now Matters Now, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and Save.org, in addition to consulting with people who had experience with self-injury or suicide, to best tackle those in distress on the site.
