By Minda Smiley Facebook has launched ‘On This Day,’ a feature that lets its users see previous status updates, photos, posts from friends and other things that they’ve shared or been tagged in from years ago. The feature rivals Timehop, an app that allows people to see past posts from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social channels. ‘On This Day’ will only showcase posts from Facebook. By Minda Smiley American Greetings has introduced ‘ThankList,’ a digital experience and social effort that allows users to create a video or message online to thank all of the people who have had a positive impact on their lives. To roll out the movement, the greeting card company paired with Oscar-winning documentarian Barbara Kopple and production company Nonfiction Unlimited to produce five short films featuring people who have created and fulfilled their ThankLists. By Minda Smiley In an effort to assist local businesses with building their web presence, Google has launched a programme called ‘Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map’ to help businesses get their information on Google Search and Maps. Google is teaming up with local leaders to create a programme for 30,000 US cities. Each city will have its own website that businesses can visit for help. Businesses can also build a website of their own that’s free for one year.
