Home Retail credits marketing for current Argos buzz as group sales edge up

By Thomas Hobbs Although Home Retail warned that first half-year sales at Argos would likely fall, as it transitions the business into a digital retailer and battles weaker demand for electronic products, it said that its current marketing strategy had been successful. “A key component of creating a universally appealing offer is brand positioning and communications,” said the company’s annual financial report. Always and TED lead 2015 Webby Award winners

By John Glenday The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences has announced this year’s Webby Award winners, with Always’ #LikeAGirl campaign and TED leading the pack. Judges including Arianna Huffington and Conan O’Brien settled on the winners after awarding no less than 11 separate awards to each. Hot on their heels were VICE Media with ten trophies, IDEO with five and finally the New York Times, Hyperlapse, and Mashable – each of which managed to garner four nods.
