China's bike sharing companies Ofo and Mobike plan foreign expansions

By Danielle Long China’s bike wars are set to go international as the country’s leading bike sharing apps prepare to launch into new markets. China’s biggest bike-sharing startups Ofo and its rival Mobike have revealed plans to expand their booming cycle empires into overseas markets this year. Speaking to Bloomberg Television, Ofo co-founder Zhang Siding said the company plans to launch in 20 different countries in 2017. It will also launch in 200 cities across China. Siding said the company would leverage its strategic partnership with Ant Financial, the financial services arm of Alibaba Group, to facilitate the company’s overseas expansion. Former Woolworths boss works up plans to resurrect the high street chain

By John Glenday Woolworths could make a surprise return to British high streets after a former boss revealed his intent to resurrect the famous retailer after a near decade long absence. Tony Page served as managing director at the business before it collapsed a decade ago amidst debts of close to £400m, undeterred, however, Page believes the brand could still have a future with the right backing. Page states he has approached Shop Direct to purchase the venerable brand name back with a view to re-establishing a physical presence. YouTube issues Restricted Mode fix to unhide LGBTQ content

By John Glenday YouTube has issued a belated fix to its Restricted Mode following criticism in March that a system designed to filter out ‘mature content’ was inadvertently blocking Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer content in the process. Having initially tried to play down such side effects YouTube subsequently apologized and has now followed through on these warm words with action.
