Google considers introducing ad-blocker for Chrome web browser

By Benjamin Cher Google is reportedly introducing an ad-blocking feature for bot desktop and mobile versions of its Chrome browser according to a Wall Street Journal report. This feature would filter out certain types of online ads deemed to provide a bad user experience, and could be turned on by default. Adult smartphone addiction set to grow in China, says eMarketer

This trend is also reflected in Southeast Asia as well, with smartphones the go-to device for accessing the web. Adults in China are projected to spend an average of 1 hour 38 minutes with their smartphones daily in 2017. eBay reports $2.2bn in Q1 revenue, buoyed by UX, advertising efforts

On an earnings call on Wednesday (April 19), President and chief executive Devin Wenig said, “Q1 was a good start to the year where we make progress redefining the eBay experience [and] brand.” For his part, chief financial officer Scott Schenkel added that eBay will spend the remainder of the year focused on growing its base of active buyers and new experiences and it expects to close out 2017 with revenue of $9.3 to $9.5bn.
