Instagram adds stories curated by location and hashtag

By Lisa Lacy Photo and video sharing platform Instagram announced two updates to its Stories feature in social discovery platform Explore: location and hashtag stories. “Now you can see what’s happening around you and find stories related to your interests,” Instagram said in a blog post. P&G unites UK media business under Publicis

By Jennifer Faull Procter & Gamble (P&G) has consolidated its media planning, scheduling and buying in the UK and Ireland with Publicis Media following a review of its business in Northern Europe earlier this year. The account – estimated to be worth more than £200m – was previously managed by Starcom Mediavest and then split between Starcom and Mediavest Spark during Publicis’ restructure last year. Meanwhile, MediaCom oversaw the print side of the account. Commission based compensation is gaining ground as marketers seek to simplify agency pay, finds ANA

By Laurie Fullerton The number of ad agencies using media commission-based compensation systems is on the up, according to findings from the Association of National Advertisers’ (ANA) in its latest “Trends In Agency Compensation” report. Media commissions (i.e pay based on a percentage of spend) as a compensation model was used by just 3% of marketers in 2010. But commission rebounded to 12% of compensation models in 2016, the ANA said.
