The campaign features a range of influencers including fashion blogger Ellie Adams and ‘Foodbusker’ writer John Quilter, who are shown using the Santander Cycles to travel to their favourite spots in London to hammer home the idea that bikes aren’t just for commuters. WhatsApp in talks to integrate payments on its platform in India

Sexualised ads don't work and yield no results, according to latest research

By Tony Connelly Provocative advertising campaigns have little impact on sales and can have a negative effect on a brand’s image, according to new research. John Wirtz, an advertising professor at the University of Illinois, combined data from 78 studies that examined the efficacy of sex appeal in adverts. The study, titled ‘The effect of exposure to sexual appeals in advertisements on memory, attitude, and purchase intention results’, found that audiences were no more likely to recall a brand’s name or purchase a product if an ad campaign used sexualised content. Amazon hits back after Walmart tells suppliers to stop using its cloud services

By Tony Connelly Amazon has accused Walmart of trying to coerce its technology suppliers into rejecting Amazon’s cloud computing service in favour of rival platforms. The fallout follows on from a report in the Wall Street journal, which revealed the US retail chain had told the technology companies it works with to stop using Amazon cloud web services and move to competitors instead.
