Samsung acquires South Korean artificial intelligence firm Fluenty to improve Bixby

By Shawn Lim Samsung has announced it has acquired South Korean artificial intelligence Fluenty to use the startup’s machine learning-based chatbot to upgrade its AI assistant Bixby. According to The Korean Herald, Samsung will buy over the firm’s engineers, technologies and assets, which counts researchers from top technology firms like Kakao and LG Electronic as its founders. Bixby made its long-awaited launch in the United States earlier this year, before Samsung rolled it out to its customers in India during the launch of its Galaxy 8 phone. Black Friday and Cyber Monday online conversations beats out Singles' Day in Southeast Asia

By Shawn Lim Meltwater has released its findings which tracked online reactions in Southeast Asia in the lead-up to and during Singles’ Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and found that over eight in 10 conversations (82.92%) online were focused on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The media intelligence company tracked online perceptions across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, blogs, forums, message boards and review sites from 28 October to 28 November 2017 and found that Indonesia led the way driving the highest volume of online chatter with 88.6% of conversations centered around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Nielsen Marketing Cloud launches in Asia Pacific with TVB as its first client

The deal will largely be around building a data management platform (DMP) for TVB and moving towards addressable TV and targeted ads for its over-the-top (OTT) service. Twitter announces automated, always-on amplification engine ‘Promotion Mode’

The social platform launched the feature, priced at $99 a month for those who want to have an automated, advertising solution for their brands and products.
