Sainsbury’s takes inspiration from Roald Dahl with BFG Christmas ad

By Amy Houston In a delightful nod to the classic book, the retailer’s festive spot, created by New Commercial Arts, features a 24-foot-tall giant with oversized ears, intent on making the holiday season truly “phizz-whizzing.” Sainsbury’s has debuted its annual Christmas ad and it’s a fantastical take on the 1982 BFG book by British author Roald Dahl. The ad features a charming blend of real-life scenes starring a Sainsbury’s employee named Sophie, seamlessly interwoven with animated sequences of the friendly giant, bringing a touch of whimsy and warmth to this festive tale. John Lewis launch second chapter of ‘Give Knowingly’ trilogy

By Amy Houston Saatchi & Saatchi’s first chapter announced the return of ‘Never Knowingly Undersold’ and now the message of gifting is being shared before a further ad launches later this month. John Lewis has unveiled a 2024 gifting campaign that comprises a gift list and 8 films that it will run in partnership with brands such as Charlotte Tilbury, Samsung and Dyson. The campaign lands ahead of the Black Friday trading period and similarly to the first installment, the voiceover comes from BAFTA-winning actor Samantha Morton.
