Ad of the Day: John Cooper Clarke writes and performs ‘Proper Sound’ poem for Co-Op

By Amy Houston The rousing film comes from media production company Iconoclast and ad agency Lucky Generals. A new ad for Co-Op Live, shot on 35mm film, features the legendary punk poet John Cooper Clarke. Known as The Bard of Salford, Cooper Clarke delivers a specially written verse celebrating the Manchester entertainment venue. The collage-style ad is a nod to the city’s rich musical history, featuring venues such as the Salford Lads Club and familiar faces such as Happy Monday’s Rowetta.
