Penguin to let Londoners read its books for free in TfL and Virgin Media tie-up

By Natalie Mortimer Penguin is offering passengers on the London Underground the opportunity to read extracts of new books, ideas and author interviews this summer as part of the publisher’s 80th anniversary celebrations. In collaboration with Transport for London (TfL) and Virgin Media’s Wifi service, Penguin has created a dedicated mobile-first site called Summer of Penguin where passengers will be offered a daily choice of stories from the publisher to read or listen to during their journey. Viber dials up US marketing efforts

By Ronan Shields Viber plans to ramp up its share of the US messaging app market, plus increase engagement with its existing global user base with the appointment of Scott Nelson as its first head of North America, plus four separate agencies to bolster the brand’s presence there. Brands need to build momentum around disability sport

By Alison Millington The London 2012 Paralympics drew attention to disability sport across the nation and around the world, particularly when Channel 4 took the title of broadcaster of the tournament. In the year that followed, the Paralympic events at the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games, an annual track and field event held in London, attracted 60,000 spectators, a number that dropped to 20,000 this year. Liverpool FC players Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana & Martin Skrtel star in NIVEA ad

By Tony Connelly Nivea has partnered with Liverpool FC in its latest advertising campaign for its new moisturising cream designed especially for men. The new ad continues the partnership between the two which was announced in February and features top Liverpool players Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Martin Skrtel. The 30 second ad, created by FCB Inferno, was filmed on location in Liverpool and is shot through the perspective of midfielder Lallana in a typical day for the Premier League star.
