By John Glenday Tesco, wounded big beast of the UK supermarket sector, is showing fresh signs of life after notching up a second month on the trot as the best performing of Britain’s big four grocery providers. Data compiled by Nielsen for the 12 weeks to 20 May 2017 showed that Tesco upped sales by 2.2%, well ahead of rivals Morrisons, Sainsburys and Asda, which recorded growth of 1.4, 1.2 and -0.1% respectively.
