Holiday Inn China shares travellers moments of joy in new campaign

The Moments of Joy campaign features Chinese travellers and Holiday Inn staff sharing their experiences of the brand from China and abroad. The campaign kicks off with an ad featuring the story of a long-standing Holiday Inn customer, Kong Jia, who has been a member of the group’s IHG Rewards Club for 23 years. Alibaba steps up global logistics network with majority stake in Cainiao

By Danielle Long Alibaba has increased its investment in logistics company Cainiao as it continues to ramp up its ‘New Retail’ strategy globally. The e-commerce giant has invested RMB5.3 billion (US$807 million) to increase its ownership from 47% to 51%, giving it a majority stake and increasing its board representation to four out of seven seats. The move is part of Alibaba’s mission to create a global logistics network that can fulfil orders in China within 24 hours and within 72 hours anywhere in the world. Gatorade announces first scripted series to be produced by Awesomeness

Digital ad spend to grow by double digits in Southeast Asia

By Taruka Srivastav As a result of heavy mobile investment, Digital ad spend in six Southeast Asia cities – namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – will increase by double digits in 2017 and 2018, according to eMarketer. Mobile ad spend will surpass $2.20bn and account for nearly 69.0% of digital ad expenditures by 2021, the report stated. Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam will see the strongest growth in mobile ad spending bolstered by heavy smartphone adoption among the countries in Southeast Asia.
