Luis Saurez has apologised for biting Chiellini in a Twitter statement, saying that it happened as a result of a collision.
Saurez has been banned for four months and has seen sponsor 888 Poker drop him while Adidas says they have ‘no plans’ to use him for World Cup activity.
Saying that he “deeply regret what occurred”, Saurez also made a “vow to the public” that there will “never be another incident like it”.
