An RAF airbase football team has been given the chance to go behind the scenes at England’s St George’s Park after winning Samsung’s ‘Train like England’ competition.
Entrants were encouraged to declare ‘why their team deserves to win’ the prize and RAF Valley FC, stationed on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, came out on top after Samsung considered hundreds of entries from across the UK.
The team, composed of fast-jet training pilots, air-traffic controllers, flight operations assistants and search-and-rescue helicopter crew members will visit England’s St George’s Park facility in Burton upon Trent next Tuesday and Wednesday.
