Best Buy has set itself apart from a chain of big-name companies by accepting payment from Apple Pay.
The company is the first member of MCX – a group of retailers currently developing a payment platform set to rival Apple Pay – to agree to use the tech giant’s payment system.
“We remain invested in MCX,” a spokesperson for Best Buy told re/Code.
However, she did not mention whether Best Buy would use MCX’s payment system, Current C.
“We are actively monitoring their pilots,” she said. “It’s too early to declare whether we will take it at launch.”
