NBC is distancing itself from Donald Trump after he made offensive remarks about Mexican immigrants during his presidential candidacy speech last week.
The broadcaster released a statement on Thursday 25 June that said: “Donald Trump’s opinions do not represent those of NBC, and we do not agree with his positions on a number of issues, including his recent comments on immigration,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
The statement follows Univision’s announcement that it will no longer air NBC Universal’s Miss USA Pageant, which Trump partly owns, after he said that Mexican immigrants bring drugs and crime to the US.
