The Facebook juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down after racking up a billion hits in a single day, founder Mark Zuckerberg has boasted.

In a blog post Zuckerberg revealed that the bumper figure had been breached on Monday when ‘1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family.

‘This was the first time we reached this milestone, and it’s just the beginning of connecting the whole world.’
