AOL has announced the launch of a live-streaming platform which will broadcast live events and video content alongside its media brands and media partners.
The new cross-screen platform, Live by AOL, will aim to offer event streaming, distribution and monetization services and will use its own media platforms such as the Huffington Post and TechCrunch as well as AOL.com. It will also work with 1,700 publishing partners to distribute content across mobile, digital and linear TV.
Jimmy Maymann, executive vice president of AOL Consumer Brands claimed that live event streaming would be “the next frontier for innovation”.
