YouTube has confirmed it will pay content creators contributing to new ad-free subscription service YouTube Red during its free trial, addressing rumours to the contrary.
At risk of treading similar ground set by Apple Music when Taylor Swift successfully campaigned for artist pay during its three month free trial, YouTube confirmed creators will not go unpaid during the period.
The $9.99 a month premium tier service, which is currently being piloted in the US, looks to produce exclusive content as an incentive to sign up. It comes bundled with access to YouTube’s gaming and upcoming music platforms.
