Looking specifically at marketing director level, men take home £79,683 while women pocket £61,507. Although the gap is smaller for roles lower down the managerial ladder men still earn more, with male brand managers earning £42,738 on average while women take home £39,166.
The lack of equal pay between the sexes could explain why a higher proportion of women (29%) are unhappy in their job compared to men (24%).
