Code tucked away in the Facebook Messenger app has hinted that the service is set for a shift into mobile payments in a move that could hook the social network up with brands.
A slew of features have reportedly been tucked away in the iOS version of the app, according to the Information.
With the drive, users look likely to be able to pay for e-transactions that would drive Facebook into competition with the likes of Apple Pay, Android Pay and established players like PayPal.
