North Korea imposes further web restrictions now blocking Facebook, YouTube and Twitter

North Korea has blocked a whole host of top websites to maintain a firm grip of the information and content being accessed within its borders.

Western web giants such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are among those axed with a number of South Korean entities also restricted.

Leading DPKR government network Koryolinkm led the way with the announcement although the real world effects of the censorship will be minimal as few North Korean citizens have full web access.

Instead many citizens, of which there are roughly around two million mobile phone users, have access only to a heavily restricted North Korean intranet.
