Health tech is Nokia's next gambit as it looks intent to snap up Withings

Former mobile giant cum wireless network specialists Nokia have set down a waypoint in its new drive to diversify its business with plans to acquire digital health firm Withings.

The Finnish company claims it is looking to accelerate its “entry into digital health” with the $191m deal.

Withings is a company known for creating “smarter products for healthy living”, all powered by the internet of things – hinting that Nokia is looking to enter the wearables market on the back of its wireless expertise.
