Sanderson Farms, one of the largest poultry producer in the US, has rolled out a campaign that advocates for the use of antibiotics in chickens and accuses competitors of slapping ‘raised without antibiotics’ labels on products just to sell them at higher prices.
The campaign comes as poultry producers like Tyson and Perdue have taken steps to eliminate their use of antibiotics used to treat humans, since antibiotic-resistant bacteria has become a growing concern not only amongst consumers but also brands including McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A.
