Teenage YouTuber sent to jail in Singapore for “wounding religious feelings”

The Singapore courts has decided to send teenage YouTuber Amos Yee to jail for criticizing Christianity and Islam on his YouTube channel.

According to Reuters, Yee pleaded guilty to six charges of posting comments on the internet critical of the religions. He will serve six weeks in jail but at one stage was facing up to three years of jail time.

It also reported that Judge Ong Hian Sun told the district court that Yee’s actions could not be accepted and could “generate social unrest”.
