Half (49 per cent) of all adults use a mobile phone for any other activity aside from talking and texting each week for an average of one hour and 30 minutes per day, the latest IPA TouchPoints5 data has found.
This compares to the 78 per cent of all 15-24s using a mobile phone each week, aside from talking and texting, for an average of 1hour and 52 minutes per day.
The research also found that 12 per cent of daily communications taking place on social media platforms, and another 12 per cent taking place over emails.
