Over half of UK consumers would be annoyed with retailers that assume they want goods they haven’t ordered, according to new research from digital commerce solutions provider Venda.
In reaction to the news that Amazon has filed a patent to ship goods to customers before they had actually been ordered, 55 per cent of shoppers said they would be annoyed with the retailer.
The research, which YouGov conducted on behalf Venda, polled the views of 2,052 UK adults, also found that 37 per cent of consumers would regard this type of predictive delivery as an invasion of their privacy.
