In the third excerpt from Epiphany’s Little Book of Ideas, published in association with The Drum earlier this month, Tom Salmon explores how successful people and brands challenge their own ideas and methods by adopting a new mindset.

Successful people challenge their own ideas, attitudes and methods.

One way of doing this is to use an oblique strategy. This helps you to reject the easy solution during projects with a tight deadline.

The method was designed by musician Brian Eno and artist Peter Schmidt, who created a challenging deck of cards with questions or instructions written on them.
