Facebook is rolling out an artificial intelligence technology that will identify posts, videos, and live streams posted by users that contain suicidal thoughts, as it looks to step up its suicide prevention efforts.
The company said in a blog post that the AI will look for patterns on posts that contain references to suicide or self-harm and comments like ‘Are you ok?’ and ‘Can I help?’, which can potentially be an indicator of suicidal thoughts.
