Al Jazeera to highlight assaults on journalists with 'The Demand Press Freedom' campaign

Al Jazeera has launched The Demand Press Freedom campaign one year after Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the UAE launched a blockade against Qatar and called for the Doha-based network to be shut down.

As part of the campaign, the network will host a series of events and international forums to highlight the conditions of journalists arrested across the world, assaults on media organisations, and attempts to silence the press.

According to Reporters Without Borders, 35 journalists have been killed so far this year – at least 11 of them in Afghanistan.
