Versace has drawn the wrath of China upon itself after producing a t-shirt which appeared to indicate that the island’s of Hong Kong and Macau were independent of mainland China.
Part of a new city-country range of casual wear the offending garbs came in city-nation pairs such as London-UK and Milan-Italy. In China’s case, however, the special administrative region of Hong Kong broke from this convention having been labelled as Hong Kong – Hong Kong; the same format as used for Macau.
