Crowdsourcing bid for solar panel roads rakes in $1.8m

A campaign to manufacture “solar roadways” has racked up over $1.8m of funding on Indiegogo.

According to the couple who have set up the campaign, solar roadways are a modular paving system of solar panels that can withstand the heaviest of trucks.
