Adidas makes moves to portray itself as a more sustainable brand by banishing plastic bags

Adidas is promoting its green credentials with a vow to remove plastic shopping bags from its retail stores around the world.

The move is expected to eliminate around 70 million bags per year and will be implemented across Adidas’ 3,000 retail stores effective “immediately.”

As part of the initiative the German sports brand says it has agreements with the “vast majority” of its franchisees to switch to paper bags by the end of June.
