Alex Salmond to speak on press regulation at inaugural Scottish Newspaper Society conference

Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond will deliver a keynote speech at the inaugural Scottish Newspaper Society conference in Glasgow this week.

Salmond is expected to address issues such as press regulation at the event on 24 April, which will open with a speech from Lord Black of Brentwood, a key figure in the set-up of the press industry’s Independence Press Standards Organisation (Ipso). Ellis Watson, chief executive of DC Thomson publishing, will also deliver a keynote speech at the conference, which is organised in association with First ScotRail.
