Amazon has escalated its battle against sellers purchasing fake reviews to stoke interest in their products by taking several to court for participating in such scams – the first time it has resorted to such measures.
Three sellers are being sued for in excess of $25,000 each by the internet retailer for using dummy accounts to post glowing reviews in a bid to drive sales in the hope of dissuading others from being tempted to follow suit.
