Facebook tests downvote button to combat 'Fake News'

To step up to its commitment of driving more meaningful interaction on its platform, Facebook is now testing a downvote button.

As reported by TechCrunch, the downvote button is a way for people to provide a signal to Facebook that a comment is inappropriate, uncivil, or misleading.

On pressing the downvote button (as seen in the picture provided by Christina Hudler below), Facebook hides the comments and provides users options with like “Offensive”, “Misleading”, and “Off Topic”. This enables Facebook to know whether the comment is objectionable, a form of “fake news”, or irrelevant
