Morrisons under fire for selling pork products under Ramadan promotion

Morrisons has upset Muslim shoppers promoting pork products under Ramadan promotional stickers.

Speaking to the press 32-year-old shopper, Shoaib Khan, said: “I don’t think it’s offensive but it’s disappointing. If you’re going to do something like that you need to do it properly. They need to be careful about this sort of thing.”

In its defense Morrisons has claimed the sticker was moved.

“Somebody appears to have moved the sticker before the photo was taken,” said a spokesperson for the supermarket chain. “We can confirm the Ramadan sticker is not near any pork products this week.”
