Sony has said the online gaming services for its PlayStation console are returning to normal after an apparent cyber attack on Christmas Day which also affected Microsoft’s Xbox Live service.
Sony sent out a tweet this morning to notify users that its PlayStation Network was running again. “Update: PS4, PS3, and Vita network services are gradually coming back online – thanks for your patience,” the tweet read.
The attack, claimed by a group of hackers called Lizard Squad, meant that downloaded games could not be played gamers, preventing them from competing against others online.
