The Mirror newspaper is marking 70 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe by digitally republishing original newspapers from 1945.
Each day, from Tuesday 28 April to the anniversary of VE Day next Friday (8 May), the corresponding 1945 issue will be published alongside the current day’s e-edition on iPad and Android apps.
Peter Willis, Daily Mirror weekday editor, said: “The Mirror has been at the heart of breaking news in the UK for over 100 years.
“These editions would have been pored over as readers sought to learn every detail of the Allies’ progress.”
