Wimbledon joins the growing number of venues banning the ‘nuisance’ selfie sticks

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) is the latest venue in the sports industry to clamp down on the use of selfie sticks at its venues.

As a result of the decision, the sticks which enable users to take longer-than-arm-length self-portait images, will no longer be permitted for use within Wimbledon.

A ticketholders’ guide for Wimbledon 2015 said: “In common with many other major sports and entertainment events and cultural attractions, the Championships will not allow ‘selfie sticks’ into the ground.”
