Asia-Pacific set to beat North America for number of Twitter users this year

By Ishbel Macleod The Asia-Pacific region will account for a third (32.8 per cent) of all Twitter users this year, research from eMarketer has found, a figure which is set to grow to over 40 per cent by the end of 2018. This compares to the 28 per cent of accounts currently held in North America, a figure which eMarketer predicts will not grow by much over the coming years. The research predicted that growth in countries such as Indonesia, India and Australia will help Twitter to reach the 400 million user mark by 2018. More robots than humans saw Mercedes-Benz online advertising campaign, Telemetry states

By Ishbel Macleod More computer bots saw the latest Mercedes-Benz online advertising campaign than humans, new research states. According to the Financial Times, who has seen documents on the campaign, the ads were inadvertently placed on to fraudulent websites by Rocket Fuel, the ad tech company which went public last year. Mercedes has said that it and its US advertising agency, Merkley & Partners, which is part of Omnicom Group, have continued to work with Rocket Fuel, and that it received a refund from Rocket Fuel following the incident.
