Sam Smith to perform in live music TV advert to promote Google Play

By Ishbel Macleod Google Play is set to promote music in a new ad launching on Channel 4, which will see Brit Award winner Sam Smith sing live. The ad break, which will take place during Alan Carr’s Chatty Man on Friday, will show Smith play his song Stay With Me, which he will be performing live as part of his gig at London’s Roundhouse. LulzSec leader-turned-FBI-informant Sabu helped authorities foil 300 hack attacks, court papers reveal

By Angela Haggerty A former senior figure from LulzSec, the hacktivist group associated with Anonymous, has assisted the FBI in foiling more than 300 attacks since he was arrested in 2011. ‘Sabu’, real name Hector Xavier Monsegur, will be sentenced on Tuesday after facing charges for his involvement in hacking attacks while part of the group, but as a result of his cooperation, officials have recommended a reduced sentence of time served. Monsegur has already pleaded guilty to nine counts related to computer hacking, and the maximum sentence he could be handed is 26 years.
