Document-fetching robot printer Fuji Xerox an example of 'technology for technology's sake' says analyst

By John McCarthy Japanese firm Fuji Xerox has developed a robot printer robot, designed to deliver documents straight to the computer from where the print order originated. The printer, designed to ensure that secure documents reach their correct destination by travelling to the user and requesting a unique smart card in return, has allegedly been rendered inert by wireless technology. This system will theoretically prevent sensitive documentation from gathering on the distribution tray in another room where an immobile printer would be located. Facebook testing new function to make mobile search better

By Ishbel Macleod Facebook is testing a function for its mobile app which will allow users to search through their friends old posts by keywords. The tool, which has been described by Facebook as “an improvement to search on mobile” will help users find content which may otherwise be buried.
