Newsquest names Toby Gransville as editorial development director

By John Glenday Newsquest Media Group has appointed Toby Granville as its editorial development director in a 12 month secondment, a role which will see the current group editor of Newsquest Dorset assume editorial responsibilities for one of the UK’s largest regional media groups. The appointment caps a quarter century career in journalism for Granville who started out on the Sunday People before becoming editor The Wharf, a free weekly, until ultimately joining Newsquest in 2002 as editor of the Wiltshire Times. Diageo may be eyeing Premier League for first major football sponsorship

By Alison Millington A Sky News report released today (30 January) suggested that Diageo and existing sponsor Barclays are among those competing for the title sponsorship deal, which is believed to be worth more than £150m. If the sponsorship goes through, this would be the first major football deal for the company, which has made major plays in rugby and F1 sponsorship with its Guinness and Johnnie Walker brands.
