By Jennifer Faull McDonald’s has released as ad in India encouraging voters not the take their rights for granted as the lengthy election process continues. India’s general elections began in early April and will continue for another four weeks. Some 900 million Indians are eligible to vote, but 280 million opted not to vote in the last elections. Walmart plans to open 17 high-end Sam’s Club stores across China by 2020

By Danielle Long Walmart plans to open 40 of its high-end membership Sam’s Club stores in China by 2020 as it continues to expand its retail footprint. The US retail giant currently operates 23 Sam’s Club stores across 19 Chinese cities and boasts around two million members. The stores, which offer quality fresh produce and membership products for customers, have been growing steadily since launching in 1996. Carousell appoints 72andSunny Singapore as it plots next phase of growth

The seven year-old start-up competes with the likes of Gumtree and Shopee and is valued at over US$550m following a recent $56m fundraising deal with Napster’s OLX Group. Part of that deal saw it acquire operations in the Philippines, which is now its seventh largest market alongside Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia.
