EE releases 'Cash on Tap' London bus mobile payment app

Mobile network EE has launched the ‘Cash on Tap’ scheme letting commuters wirelessly pay London bus fares using a smartphone app.

‘Cash on Tap’, created in partnership with MasterCard for smartphones, is expected to be active on half a million handsets by the end of the year.

Users will no longer have to queue to swipe their Oyster cards instead only needing to touch their phones to the bus terminal to purchase a ticket costing £1.45 for a single and £20.20 for a week.
