Facebook has apologised to its 1.5bn user base after the site was abruptly taken offline at 17:30 yesterday evening after ‘something went wrong’ with the companies servers.
The technical hitch left millions disappointed as they attempted to log-in only to be presented by a grey screen of death and a meek ‘sorry’ message from Facebook’s engineers as they scrabbled to ascertain what had gone wrong.
A short message read: “”Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.”
