Woolworths could make a surprise return to British high streets after a former boss revealed his intent to resurrect the famous retailer after a near decade long absence.
Tony Page served as managing director at the business before it collapsed a decade ago amidst debts of close to £400m, undeterred, however, Page believes the brand could still have a future with the right backing.
Page states he has approached Shop Direct to purchase the venerable brand name back with a view to re-establishing a physical presence. The brand name was sold in the immediate aftermath of Woolworths collapse. Read full story ›
