Google has switched up how it displays ads in its desktop search results in a move that reduces the number of ads displayed in order to increase efficiency.
Ads will no longer be displayed in the right-hand side of the search results page after Google confirmed that the sidebar will now be left clear. Instead one additional ad will be placed at the top of the page, resulting in four ads now being displayed.
